The BBSA is 90 years old this year. Originally named the Master Blindmakers Association with Thomas William Tidmarsh as its first President. The new Association supported twelve companies manufacturing blinds, mainly from London and surrounding area. The Association changed to the National Association of Window Blind Manufacturers and finally to the British Blind and Shutter Association in the 1970s.
